§ 10-1. Burying animals; protection of trees, shrubs and wildlife; construction of provisions; penalty for violation.

  • (a)

    Burying animals. No person shall bury within the city the body of any dead animal.

    (b)

    Protection of trees and shrubs. No person shall permit any horse or other beast to break down, destroy or injure any tree or shrub in any street, alley, lane or public ground of the city, or to hitch or tie a horse, team or other beast to any such tree or shrub.

    (c)

    Protection of wildlife. No person shall kill, destroy or molest any bird, bird's nest, animal or fish or other wild life within or belonging to the city parks or playgrounds.

    (d)

    Construction of provisions. The provisions of this section shall be liberally construed to provide for protection and preserve the health, safety and welfare of persons and property in the city, to eliminate disorderly conduct in the city, and to control the activities of minor children within the said city.

    (e)

    Penalty for violation. Any violation of this section shall be punishable by no more than 90 days in the county jail or a fine of not more than $100.00 or by such fine and imprisonment.
