§ 54-4. School district motor vehicles.

  • (a)

    Title. This section shall be known and may be cited as the "School District Motor Vehicle Ordinance."

    (b)

    Definition. The words "school district" as used in this section refer to the Parchment School District, Kalamazoo County, Michigan.

    (c)

    Motor vehicles. A resolution having been received from the Board of Education of the Parchment School District, Kalamazoo County, Michigan, as provided in PA 1958. No. 175, being CL 1948, section 257.961, as amended, requesting the city to adopt ordinances governing the operation, parking without fees, and the speed of motor vehicles on the property of such school district within the city for the purpose of enforcement and imposing of penalties for the violation thereof in the same manner as other ordinances of the city are enforced, City of Parchment Ordinance No. 60, as amended (an ordinance to adopt by reference the Uniform Traffic Code for Michigan cities, townships, and villages, as amended) shall govern the operation of motor vehicles on the property of the school district within the city.

    (d)

    References in Uniform Traffic Code. References in the Uniform Traffic Code for Michigan Cities, Townships, and Villages to "governmental unit" shall mean the City of Parchment. References in the Uniform Traffic Code for Michigan Cities, Townships, and Villages to "traffic engineer" shall mean that person designated by the city as its "traffic engineer."
