§ 54-1. Unattended motor vehicles; penalty for violation.

(a)

No person having control or charge of a motor vehicle shall allow such vehicle to stand unattended on any highway or on any parking lot without first effectively setting the brakes or transmission thereon against movement, stopping the motor, locking the ignition and removing the keys therefrom.

(b)

Violation of this section shall be punishable by a fine of not to exceed $100.00.
